Welcome to the Brainerd Dog Park website!  Please use this website as a resource for news and information about the park.

The Brainerd Parks Department has discussed using land for a dog park at Trailside Park, which is located at Beaver Dam Rd and Wise Rd.   As of yet, the department has not voted on or approved this.  They have discussed the possiblity that the use of proceeds from the sale of harvested timber could help pay for the cost of the park.  This will also need to be voted on and approved by the board, and the amount of money that will be raised from the selective harvest is still unknown.  The first phase of the timber harvest could be done this winter or next winter.  The board is opening bids on Monday, Jan. 23.   If the park board approves the dog park, a number of things need to occur.   There is a trail to the dog park, putting up fencing, electricity, lights, sewer, rest rooms, etc.   This all takes time and volunteers will likely be sought.

Fundraising  efforts may be necessary to help cover the expenses.   It is estimated that a six foot fence surrounding a 2 acre park will cost over 15k.  There has been talk about a 4 acre site as well.   The park board has stated that donations would be gladly accepted.

Stay tuned for more details!
